“SAMART” Secures EGAT Projects Worth Over THB 2.08 Billion through “TEDA”, Boosting Backlog to Nearly THB 16 Billion
TEDA Co., Ltd. (TEDA), an affiliated company of the SAMART Group specializing in comprehensive construction management for high-voltage transmission lines and substations, and 94.35% owned by SAMART U-TRANS Co., Ltd., has partnered with Sinohydro (Thailand) Co., Ltd. under “The Consortium of TEDA and STC”, in which TEDA holds a 52% stake, and has received a Letter of Agreement from the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) for the Transmission System Development Project in Nan, Phrae, and Uttaradit provinces, aimed at supporting electricity purchases from projects in Laos.
The project covers the construction of the 500 kV Den Chai Substation (GIS), as well as the procurement and construction for the improvement of the 500 kV Mae Moh 3 and 500 kV Tha Tako substations. The Consortium of TEDA and STC received the Letter of Agreement from EGAT on August 10, 2026, with a total contract value of THB 2,080.71 million, comprising THB 1,101.54 million for TEDA and THB 979.18 million for Sinohydro (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
Mr. Watchai Vilailuck, Executive Vice Chairman – Corporate Strategy & New Business Development of SAMART Corporation Public Company Limited, said, “Securing this major project from EGAT not only reflects TEDA’s capabilities and expertise in high-voltage electrical systems and energy infrastructure, but also strengthens the SAMART Group’s backlog. The Group currently has a total backlog of THB 14,889 million, and this new project brings the backlog to nearly THB 16 billion, with revenue expected to be gradually recognized based on project progress over the next two to three years.”
The project is scheduled for completion within 24 months from the date of confirmation of the Letter of Agreement. Meanwhile, TEDA is currently preparing the relevant documents for the formal execution and signing of the contract.
